Ian association with the EIS is long and varied and despite a (very!) brief flirtation with another union Ian has served the EIS in numerous capacities including President, Vice President and he more recently he developed the Local Association website.
At the Parklands Hotel on Friday 8th May 2009 EIS colleagues past and present got together to celebrate the commitment, friendship, incisiveness and common sense that Ian brought to the EIS.
Colin Mackie, Past President and Local Association Secretary(1991-2007) delivered an engaging speech which rightly celebrated what Ian has done over the years for EIS members and the Local Executive. Ian himself then gave a speech taking in everything from Cicero and the ghost of Banquo to Thatcher and TVEI!!
